A harpoon is a long spear-like instrument
Iceland is not only known for its music, the arts in general are thriving there. And since watching “101 Reykjavik” for the first time I’ve become a fan of Icelandic cinema as well. And I’m also a long-time fan of horror and splatter films in general, so I was delighted to find this little Icelandic movie here via Facebook: Harpoon: The Reykjavik Whale Watching Massacre.
It’s..a pastiche is too strong, it’s a nod and a homage to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Bloody hell, it has a swimmer getting shot with a harpoon canon in it. And plays on a whaling vessel. And is starring the original Leatherface, Gunnar Hansen. And the script was written by Sjon Sigurdsson (Dancer In The Dark). It’s out on DVD from the 10th of May, so please ask your trusted World Cinema-dealer for it, or order it on the website.
